This is a Gino Vannelli Yonder Tree work of art made by Mirian Sweegers, a BIG Gino Vannelli fan from Holland. Mirian created this work of art with her heart... | Here is her e-mail dated Saterday 6 August 2005 : Dutch : Hoi Barend & Trees,
Groetjes
Mirian |
English :
Hi Barend & Trees, I should see it as a big honour when my painting is allowed on your web page. You can mention my name for sure. Please let me know where I can find it because I am not that good with web pages like you are. Yes, I made it all by myself. When I can work with my heart I can make everything and anything, that's also my connection with Gino's music; He also works with His heart; otherwise the music should not grab me and touch me so much and so deep. Also you two work with your heart on the web pages. So this rule holds good universally : "What you do with your heart is good." Kind regards, Mirian |

COMMENTS, REVIEWS AND OTHER WORDS ABOUT YONDER TREE:
Yonder Tree, Gino Vannelli, singer. This well-produced recording, by the nationally-known, Beaverton-based singer-songwriter, was partially recorded in Portland and features a rhythm section of Randy Porter on piano, Phil Baker on bass, and Graham Lear on drums. Vannelli is a gifted vocalist and unique songwriter, with some compelling and intelligent lyrics, when his breathy sermons, Kerouac-inspired allusions, and poetic license aren't overdone (i.e. Moon Over Madness - a contemporary MacArthur Park). Baker (solo), Porter, and Lear give a five-star performance on Fallen in Love. Other highlights include Vannelli's vocal on None So Beautiful, Porter's intro to Unbearably Blue, and Tom Scott's saxophone on Jehovah And All That Jazz. Of special note: Porter's chord voicings and accompaniment are outstanding throughout. Polygram, 1995, Playing Time: 51:53, ****. By Michael Brewin of the SOULJAZZ web site. SOULJAZZ happens when the musician becomes the instrument through which the real music is played.
